A multiple Bronze winner, Lil Ruf Trouble was a NRHA Intermediate Open Futurity Finalist with Steve Schwartzenberger in 2003.

In 2004, Lil Ruf Trouble was shown by Steve to win both the RMRHA Summer Slide Open Derby and the RMRHA Stallion Stakes Open Derby. They also won the 2004 Sagebrush Slide Open Derby Reserve Championship after a runoff for first. Watch for this winning team at the major NRHA events in 2005.
